Treating narcolepsy depends on the problems you have. The goals are to:

Ease daytime sleepiness and keep you alert
Lessen troublesome symptoms such as:
- Weakness
- Hallucinations
- Sleep paralysis

Narcolepsy is treated with one or both:

• Lifestyle changes • Medications

There are no surgical procedures to treat narcolepsy.
