Lung Cancer Staging Small Cell

Transcript

If you have small cell lung cancer, it is often staged using a simpler, two-part system because treatment options

don't vary much between the more detailed stages used to describe non-small cell lung cancer.

In limited-stage small cell lung cancer, cancer cells are found in one lung, and may be found in the tissues between the lungs and in nearby lymph nodes.

If cancer is found in the other lung, in the lymph nodes on the other side of the chest, or in other parts of the body, it is called “extensive-stage."
