Ashwagandha is a plant that has been used to treat fatigue and improve well-being. Its root and berry can be taken as a pill, powder, or extract.

It is likely safe to take small doses of ashwagandha for a short period of time. Not enough studies have been done to say whether it is safe to use for a long period.
Talk to your doctor about any supplements or therapy you would like to use. Ashwagandha can interfere with treatment or make conditions worse, such as:
