Osteoarthritis (OA) develops over time due to many factors. There are no known ways to prevent OA. But there are steps to help keep bones and joints healthy:
- Maintain a healthy weight to ease stress on joints.
- Get regular exercise. Strong muscles protect joints from too much stress.
- Learn the proper technique for exercise and sports.
Healthy bones and joints may slow the onset OA or lower the severity.
