Nitrofurantoin is sometimes taken on an ongoing basis to prevent bladder infections.

Take at a Different Time of Day

Magnesium supplements might impair the absorption of nitrofurantoin,¹  so do not take magnesium during the 2 hours before or after your nitrofurantoin dose.
