Introducción

La cúrcuma es una planta de la familia del jengibre. Su tallo, una especia común de curry, se usa para aliviar la inflamación. También se usa para tratar la artritis y los problemas de salud relacionados con el estómago y el hígado. Se puede tomar en forma de píldora, té o como un extracto.

Notas de seguridad

En la mayoría de los casos el uso de cúrcuma es seguro si se toman cantidades limitadas durante un corto periodo de tiempo. Puede causar dolores de cabeza, diarrea y sarpullido en algunas personas. No se han realizado suficientes estudios como para decir si es seguro usarla durante un período prolongado. También se desconoce si es seguro que lo tomen mujeres que están embarazadas o amamantando.
