Pelargonium sidoides is a plant that grows in Africa. The root has been used to ease symptoms of the common cold and respiratory infections. Pelargonium sidoides can be taken as a pill, extract, lozenge, or syrup.

It is likely safe to take pelargonium sidoides in small doses for a short time. Skin rashes may happen in some people.C1 Not enough studies have been done to say whether it is safe to use for a long period. It is also not known whether it is safe to take by women who are pregnant or breastfeeding.
