The sooner smoking is stopped, the sooner the body can start to heal. Talk to your doctor about the options available to help you successfully quit.
• Manage exposures —Insecticides, fertilizers, solvents, and radon gas are common exposures. Follow instructions carefully and avoid direct contact. This may include wearing a mask, gloves, goggles, and protective clothing. Using proper ventilation can also help reduce your exposure. Radon gas levels in your home can be measured by a professional or with a home test kit.
• Decrease the risk of HIV exposure —Take precautions during sexual activity with a partner. This includes using latex condoms consistently and correctly.
