Conditions InDepth: Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

Cynthia M. Johnson, MA Carpal tunnel syndrome is a squeezing of the median nerve at the wrist that causes the nerve to stop working the way it should. This nerve brings feeling to the thumb, index and middle fingers, and half the ring finger. It often happens from repeating certain tasks as part of a job or hobby.
