Yellow Dock

Introduction

Yellow dock is an herb that grows in North America. The root has been used to ease digestion and improve liver function. Yellow dock has also been used to ease inflammation in the nose and throat. It can be taken as pill, powder, or extract. Yellow dock can also be made into a tea.

Dosages

There are no advised doses for yellow dock.

There is not enough data to support that yellow dock is helpful in treating health problems. We will review future studies as they are published.

Safety Notes

It may be safe to take yellow dock in small doses for a short time. It may be unsafe to use for a long period.1 Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should not take yellow dock.

Interactions

Talk to your doctor about any supplements or therapy you would like to use. Some can interfere with treatment or make conditions worse.
