Controlled study

Controlled study

A study in which researchers compare the effects of a treatment in a group of subjects against another group or groups taking either another treatment or no treatment. Controlled studies are much more effective than uncontrolled studies, and the best type of controlled study is a double-blind placebo-controlled study.
