The purpose of screening is early diagnosis and treatment. Screening tests are usually administered to people without current symptoms, but who may be at high risk for certain diseases or conditions.
Screening Tests and Guidelines
There are no screening tests or guidelines for kidney stones.
Kidney stones can be detected before they become symptomatic, particularly with x-rays or CT scans. People who have already had a kidney stone may undergo follow-up x-rays to ensure they have not formed another stone.
